Linked Learning Pathway Academies

Our Linked Learning Pathways engage youth by helping them make connections between the classroom and the real world. Students select their pathway towards the end of their 9th grade year, and beginning 10th grade they form a small learning community with a committed group of teachers. During the three-year pathway program, college and career preparation are integrated with rigorous core academics. Students are cohorted together in core content classes and take introductory, concentrator, then capstone courses that relate to the pathway theme.   Active and collaborative business and post-secondary partners guide and support this work and help bring work based learning opportunities to students such as mentorships, job shadowing, paid internships, industry site and college visits.  No matter which pathway students are immersed in, they explore and investigate relevant content and practice and experience skills that can be applied to any field. Our three Skyline Linked Learning pathways offer programs in the following industry sectors: Green Energy, Education & Community Health, and Arts, Media, & Entertainment.
